A chainsaw operator working on one of our sites suffered a broken leg, when he slipped/tripped on a moderate slope. At the time he was not carrying anything other than his saw and appears to have been returning to his refuelling point. The weather conditions were poor with low temperatures and intermittent rain. The root causes appear to be wet ground, rising sap causing brash to become slippery and potentially the fact that the operator was on his second day back from holiday. – Take additional care crossing steep and wet ground.
